简介

The Release Party for the new music CD The Windows To Your Soul, was on Tuesday December 13, 2011 at 8 p.m. at Ugly Betty’s, 211 N. Division near Main Streets, Spokane. Edwards discovered female singer Timari through a Craigslist ad. She wows crowds who cheer her enthusiastically at local karaoke bars. This is her debut album The Windows To Your Soul will make you dance, help you fall in love, make you laugh and maybe even make you cry. This CD is a response to the corporate formula music of today; unique and real. Windows To Your Soul contains 18 rock, pop and easy listening songs sung by Timari, written by Gary A. Edwards and friends. Here are the tracks: Track 1: Catch Me If You Can – This is a catchy bubblegum pop song with lyrics by Chelsea Stillman. It will be hard to sit still and not dance when you hear this song. Track 2: Windows -This is the feature song, lyrics written by Mark P. Case and arranged by Dan Lewis. This is a beautiful ballad about breaking up. You may even cry. Dan Lewis arranged this song and played keyboard and guitar on the track. Track 3: My Way Or The Highway - This is a rock song for dancing about a girl who gets roughed up by her prom date and has to walk home in the dark. The next time this happens she turns the tables on her date. This song is about empowering girls. Bob Lawrence helped my with the lyrics and structure of the song and plays great lead guitar on this track. Track 4: One More Hour – This is a song about a girl who’s afraid her boyfriend is about ready to dump her so she asks him for one more chance to make him fall in love with her. This song has some parts reminiscent of the slow disco beat. Track 5: You’ll Be Sorry – This is a retro 1940’s song similar to songs sung by Patsy Cline, Leeann Rimes or Willy Nelson. It’s a hit with every dance crowd for whom we play. Vince Peak plays lead guitar. Track 6: Prison Of Love – This is a rock song; the first song I wrote inspired by breaking up with my second wife and the painful feelings involved with that. Dan Lewis plays guitar on the track. Track 7: The Midnight Blues – This song is reminiscent of the blues sung by Sophie Tucker in the 1940’s, a gritty song about betrayal and breaking up. Vince Peak plays lead guitar. Track 8: The Angel - This is a dark rock song. AJ “Jacky” Kubay wrote lthe yrics. This is a song about a street girl who is exploited by men. Track 9: I Only Want You – This song’s lyrics are by Chelsea Stillman. It’s a melancholy song of a girl who lives a guy but you can tell he does not love her back. Has this ever happened to you? Track 10: Night School – I wrote this song inspired by my job teaching songwriting at a junior college. It’s a fast song in the 1950’s, 1960’s rock style and will make you get on your feet and dance. Vince Peak plays lead guitar. Track 11: Searching For Tomorrow – The lyrics to this love song were written by Leigh Ann Williams (now Newman) when she was 16 and in high school. It’s about a girl’s feelings after she breaks up with her boyfriend. It’s a moderate tempo song in singer/songwriter style. Track 12: Yankin’ My Chain – This is a 1960’s fast soul sounding type of song quite suitable for dancing. Dan Lewis plays guitar on the track. Track 13: Don’t Be Afraid – This slow song is reminiscent of a 1970’s country song like those sung by Ray Price starting with a triple meter, switching to straight time in the chorus and then back to triplet beat. The point of this song is that if your love doesn’t work out, try again until you get it right. I know it took me three plus tries to get it right. Vince Peak plays lead guitar. Track 14: Johnny Lightning – This is a fast dance rock song in early 1970’s style about a guy who only has one-night stands. Dan Lewis plays lead guitar and Dusty Thomas plays tenor sax in an instrumental duel on the track. Track 15: Who Am I – I wrote this song late one night while I was waiting for my cheating girlfriend to get home. The song asks the question everyone wants to know. It’s a melancholy song in singer/songwriter style. This song is the opening song in the movie I produced called How To Date Beautiful Women. Track 16: Baby, You’re The Best – This is a fast dance rock song in early 1970’s style about a guy who discovers that this girl likes him and they have an unforgettable night together. Dan Lewis plays lead guitar and Dusty Thomas plays tenor sax in an instrumental duel on the track. Track 17: Too Young For Tears – This is a dark rock song about a teen-age girl who learns early about love’s heartbreaks. AJ “Jacky” Kubay wrote lthe yrics. Dan Lewis plays a beautiful lead guitar solo on the third verse. Track 18: Gypsy Tango Rock – This is a rock version of a piece of classical music I wrote for string trio. I cut off the introduction from the classical piece and used it for the introduction to the rock version. The song starts with a beautiful classical string trio recorded in Russia by members of The Nevsky String trio, and then switches to the rock version when Timari starts singing. The piece blends classical, rock and Latin tango together. Dan Lewis plays lead guitar on the track. Many of the 18 songs on Windows To Your Soul can be found on the soundtrack of the film How To Date Beautiful Women written and Directed by Mark Case and produced by Gary A. Edwards. Other songs on Windows To Your Soul are used in a new musical review called Karaoke Nights written by Gary A. Edwards. Gary A.
