"When the Sun Goes Down" pretty much wrote itself. I had a beat and some chords already put together that I knew I wanted to use. I was digging through my notes in my phone for some lyrics and found some I had written a while back. I added a few lines, and hit record. I sang the words all the way through and there it was. I re-recorded it later on and polished it up, but it did not take long to write. This song means a lot to me because it speaks on the fact that I, and I think all of us, have feelings and desires that present themselves most strongly at night. It's easy to push away and forget about our feelings during the day but they tend to come back around. It's like a testimony to the other version of myself that this side of me is real and is not to be forgotten. Towards the end of the song there's a line "don't hide your Hyde, go stir the potion" which is a nod to Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and highlights the duality of our being and the encouragement to let the other side come out to play.
