简介

"Outstanding lyrical imagery and brilliantly played/assembled pieces.” -SleepingBagStudios "My favorite 'actually kind of devastating when you really listen close' album for 2013." -Independent Clauses "Human Behavior is in the business of making you feel more uncomfortable while a banjo is playing than you're typically accustomed to feeling." -Phoenix New Times Human Behavior released their first EP, Sonora, in 2011 in immediate response to the group's lead singer and songwriter Andres Parada's stay at Sonora Behavioral Health, a psychiatric treatment facility in Tucson, AZ. Upon release from the hospital, Andres moved to Austin, Minnesota (headquarters to the canned meat Spam). He lived alone in his Grandmother’s house where he wrote over 40 songs, a musical, and recorded hours of video footage, all of which documented his struggle with depression. Many of those songs appeared on their second release, The Behavior of Death in Mower County. He soon returned to his hometown of Tucson, AZ and began playing his first live shows as Human Behavior. These early performances consisted of Andres and an acoustic guitar. Next to him would be a TV playing home videos from before he was born. As he developed his live aesthetic, he began performing with other musicians. The solo project of Andres Parada quickly became a sort of dark folk-orchestra, with banjo, accordion, violin, multiple drummers, upright bass, and a 4-piece female choir. In addition, the use of video art in live performances began to evolve. Andres started splicing the old home videos with the video footage he had captured in Minnesota, using several TVs to project the images, as well as amplify his guitar and voice. With a solid roster and a commitment to using music and video as art forms, Human Behavior released their first official full length through Folktale Records in December of 2013, entitled Golgotha. The album explores the romance of modern religion, and its relationship to suburban loneliness. Human Behavior is also accompanying their record with their second chapter of video art at live performances.
