简介
"Fearless is me becoming more conscious as an artist, more conscious as a human being." I have learned a lot through out life, and I still am learning. Since I started working for Hip Hop For Change this past year, I have started to become more conscious of the things going on around me that many may not even notice, unless they are directly being affected by it. I started to become more aware and conscious of racism, discrimination, injustice towards minorities coming from the government, politicians and even people. I started to see and realize what all of that looked like in the tiniest to the biggest ways. With newfound consciousness, I began to realize I have lived a life in fear, 22 years young, and I just now realized I have been living in fear. I have been living in fear of what others may think if I do what feels good in my heart. I have been living in fear of what others may think if I dress how I feel comfortable. I have been living in fear of what others may think of who I love. I have been living in fear of sharing something beautiful that I created because of how good it made me feel, especially to cope, but that exact fear would make me second guess myself. I decided to create this album because not only did Hip Hop For Change spark the Fearless flame inside of me, but also for the girls, boys, women and men all around the world who can relate to my words, experiences, and have each song be a voice for them to represent their feelings. I want to inspire and empower others to be FEARLESS with each song, not to live in fear of doing anything that is truly good for your heart, not to live in fear of becoming anyone that is good for your heart and not to live in fear of loving anyone that is good for your heart. We also need to not live in fear of the government, and higher authorities who are corrupt, racist, and discriminate upon minorities, we are stronger when we stand together, and the best that we can do for each other, is be there for each other. I hope you enjoy this album, and share it with everyone you know. As Nina Simone once said, "I'll tell you what freedom is to me, NO FEAR" - I discovered this interview after I had made the decision to create the Fearless Album.
