Skinny Love by Bon Iver, and the whole For Emma Forever Ago album come to think of it, is absolutely spectacular. Some people don't take well to it being remixed, but this particular track was one of the the most therapeutic remixes/bootlegs I've had the pleasure of making. I decided to sit down and make some music that would reflect a bit more of a calm side to me. I was listening to the original track, threw it in my DAW and threw down some crushy destroyed drums under it to get a feel for where to start, and then it just flowed from that point on. It's not exactly what you'd expect, which has really become what I like doing - surprises. This was another marathon production binge, which seems to be how I work best.
