简介

Transmitting from Southern California, The Deep Eynde has become a staple name within the underground gothic movement for more then a decade. With many previous demos, the album City Lights exemplifies the bands heavy Gothic influences. The song "Hoodoo" which premiered on this album, has since become the most staple song The Deep Eynde has contributed toward the Gothic Community being on over 100 compilations as well as 2 movie soundtracks. With one search on the internet, it’s easy to see the impression they continue to leave as artists who have spent their life on the darker side of music. Their daunting presence is synonymous with everything dark, , from Vampire novels like S.P Somtow’s “Vanitas”, to the television series in the states, “The Vampire Diaries”. Spell*Bound (Fiendforce Records) is the sixth studio release from The Deep Eynde and is set for release internationally on April 23d, with the North American release one day later on April 24th. With the direction of producer Jeff Blue (Linkin Park), and co-produced by Chad Blinman (Resident Evil, Face To Face, Faith & The Muse), TDE have striped their music to the most personal level they have gone to date. The band first surfaced in the early 1990’s by lead singer Fate Fatal as a performance art band, with their first two albums (City Lights & Suicide Drive) being quickly picked up by gothic record label Apollyon Records in Germany. Those albums were somewhere in the realm of post 80’s Goth, with Fatal’s tragic vocals being then compared to Mark Almond’s “Mother Fist” period. Featured songs also included were the first charting release “Hoodoo”, and “Alone Again” a duet with the legendary Gitane Demone of Christian Death and most known in Los Angeles for backing vocals for Siouxsie during her Creatures tour. After years of touring the U.S, TDE’s influence on the underground got them a spot at an annual music festival at the legendary CBGB’s in 2000. TDE was then showcased as a band that wasn’t only dark, but could cross into punk and indie rock. That same year the band was noticed by skateboard legend, Duane Peters (U.S. Bombs) who immediately hand delivered their demo to record label, Bomp! USA. It was that release “Shadowland” that secured the band as being not just another “gothic act”. One month after Shadowland’s release in the states, the album was immediately picked up by punk record label, People Like you Records in Germany, and would give TDE its first taste of exposure to a straight forward rock n roll audience, and pushed them beyond their long-cultivated Gothic following with songs like “Devilchild” & “She Likes Skulls”. Soon the band found itself in high gear with the release of their most aggressive album, Bad Blood ( People Like You 1996) and supporting not only acts like The Damned, but The Broilers, Deadline, Mad Sin, and even Agnostic Front. Their new album Spell*bound reveals more sides to the bands dark influences from its sublime intro through beautifully subdued verses of from the first track, “Seizure of Roses”, a standout that both recalls an earlier path in the bands beginnings.
