简介
Born and raised in rural Nova Scotia, Kevin understood at a very young age that music was an invaluable tool for bringing people together. "One of my greatest memories of growing up is when I used to listen to my father and his friends sitting around playing music on their guitars." At the age of 4, Kevin started performing for local benefits and church functions; even then he knew music would have to part of his life... somehow. It was years later that a tragic event brought Kevin to the realization that he could use his music to not only see himself through rough times but also help others through them as well. When a close friend's little boy became ill with Rheumatoid Arthritis Kevin did what came naturally; expressed himself through song. The result was "This Little Boy", a story of the young boy's struggle through the illness and how love saw him through it. After writing this song and seeing the positive feedback it received, Kevin realized that he needed to pursue music as a career. He now felt he had the confidence and maturity to push forward with it. Kevin has immense respect for people in the music industry because he believes each song performed is a part of the person singing it. "My favourite songs to sing are ones that tell a story." This is particularly evident in the songs performed on his EP titled "hear" and his self-titled debut CD, "KEVIN DAVISON". Such touching songs as "Love Can Make You Cry", a story of the emotions that love can inflict, and "The Old Man & His Son", a tale of the struggle between a father and his son, are just two of the heart-felt songs included. These well crafted, beautifully performed country music songs contain stories to which everyone can relate. A fact Kevin can personally attest to after learning his son was born completely deaf. The EP "hear" is a result of this difficult discovery and how he used his music to work his way through it. Mainly country rock oriented, Kevin has performed in bands and as a soloist. His music is distinguishable by its richly textured harmonies and flowing melodies. He has been showcased throughout Nova Scotia at many venues including Casino Nova Scotia and the 400th Annapolis County Birthday Celebration. His talent has earned him spots on CTV Atlantic's Breakfast Television and has seen him as a first round Maritime finalist in Karaoke CMT. As his momentum builds it is becoming clear that Kevin is ready to take the next step in bringing his music to a larger audience on a more professional level. "It's all about the audience. When I see my music has touched them ...that's when I know I've done justice to a song. It's all for them, and I can't wait to show more and more people what I have to offer!"
