THE BAND OF LIFE is the latest musical incarnation of Singer/Songwriter JAYL - Founder of the Harmony Label and the Purism music method and genre. The album ROMA has been 3½ years in the making and was recorded at Jayl's own Angel Studio in the Forest of Dean. ROMA is an acronym for 'Radix Omnium Malorum Avaritia', which is a Latin saying translated as "The root of all evil is avarice". This is actually Jayl's 6th official album release and is potentially his most eclectic to date. Jayl has been producing diverse and magnificent work since the release of his acclaimed 1997 debut album - 'The World and the Hooded Man'. ROMA is full of songs of life, love, joy and pain with potent and poetic lyrical content, fused with a soaring soundscape of melody and magic. The album features Shem Booth-Spain from London based band The Singing Pictures and legendary sax maestro Matt Clackett. There are also contributions from Harmony Label artists Jimmie Bone and Tricia Bailey, noted Jazz Musician Andy Wood (aka AC Wood) and Singer/Pianist Adrian Powell from Gloucester based outfit Awake by Design. Adrian, Tricia and Shem are also all protégés of Jayl's Harmony School.
