Geek’s party is my second album. The goal was to merge some of my favorite videogames into modern electronica tracks. The result is an accessible album which can be enjoyed in a party by everyone geek or not. The overall product quality is better in every way. The bass is more present, the tracks are shorter and less experimental than the 1st album “Électroménager” . The sound is louder and there some “instant hit” tracks. For the cover, I’ve made a pixilated girl which old a beer, indeed it fits very well with the album title. ENJOY! TRACK DESCRIPTION 01-Contra This is the first track and it burst the listener away right at the beginning. I've took this one because the rythm is fast and effecient. It makes think about the game "Contra" on nes. 02- Big Boss The deep bass at the start of the track makes me think of a big boss. As the second track, the rythm is very fast to continue what was started with the first track. 03- MMM This is the first track that I've recorded for GP. This is the best result from what I wanted to accomplish with my album (retro/modern). I will take this one for a single eventually. The track start slowly with recognizable sound inspired from videogames then it switches to become a crazy dance beat. This is one of my favorite. 04- Mega-X This track is fast with an interesting distortion and high pitch catchy sound . The middle of the track reminds me the game "Mega Man X". 05- Super Patroid I remember playing the awesome game "Super Metroid" on the snes when I a was young. Consequently, I've made a track inspired from the end scene of SM3. It's a progressive track so be patient until the real party stuff begins (at 2:41)! I like this one! 06- Candy & Fatty This track is the best of the album. I consider it as an instant hit. It's short and catchy. I will use this one for my first single. The videogame influences are less present in this one, but the rythm is so AWESOME! 07-Ilepsia Sound a little bit like old 8-bits game. I like the progression of this track. I reuse the same patern with some modification, but I've push the rythm to keep the interest. Nostalgic retrogamer will like this one. 08- Incoming This track is very intense and contains drum & beat influence. In the middle of the track, the mood is space then it turns out positively to finish with the DA-DA-DA-DA..... 09- The legend of Z I wanted to make a track with the sound of the heart of zelda when you are near to death. This track is a kind of story with a character in a dungeon; Then he mets a boss, kill him and continue his epic quest. 10- Final F Very short but a special one. I would like to remix it with Mr. Oizo because the "voices" at the beginning reminds me of his character "Flateric". You will notice a little reference to "Final Fantasy". 11- Happy The beginning sounds just like the title. The second part of the track is more on the dance side with it's base rythm. 12- Ghost This one is a little bit space with a blend of a good dance beat. I progress to a pleasing end. 13- Joystick Nympho This is a big hit according to me, but I need to put lyrics on that one (I haven't the resources to do so). Very smooth and sexy track that you put at the end of a memorable dance club night. Maybe I will release another version one day...
