简介
From 2000 - 2005 I toyed with three overly ambitious solo music projects; the songs on this album come from the first one of these projects. This album has been fraught with delays; it was originally to be released as part of a rather self indulgent double album of 30 songs called Blue Magma in 2003 telling a story through songs; unsurprisingly this naively over ambitious release never happened. Later Blue magma was split into two batches Naked & Blue in 2004 and Blue Tena (meaning blue again). The second installment was due in 2005 but wasn’t released. It was rescheduled for 2008 and that failed too; I began to think it was not worth the bother as my musical approach was changing! So I gave up on the project. Nonetheless, at the end of 2010 I revisited this music & found it had a naive charm and friends convinced me it was worth some trouble. It had 15 songs which were originally written and recorded mostly in 2001-2003; I chose 8 songs that still sounded decent. To these I added 6 fresher songs to make a new work titled Dance with Me. To my horror when the album was complete and mixed, I had all my files stolen and the album was gone! The only sensible path was to forget this album and start something new. However, three months after the robbery, I came across some earlier mixes of the songs. Its these that were mastered, which allowed me to release this particular version of the album; it doesn't realise my full original vision of the material but I am still fond of these songs and I hope you can get some joy out of them as much as I did when I was making them back in 2001 and again in 2011. I am glad & actually surprised it’s finally out! Kaz Kasozi 1.
