Serial procrastinators and purveyors of slacker-dad fuzz nuggets Mental Health forgot to release their LP in 2016 but have written a note in their phones to remember to do so in 2017. The band plans to release the 10-track Trying Hard Enough at the beginning of June, following a winter of freak disc-golf injuries and discouragingly forward-looking decisions to return to school. The record finds band members Nick (vocals/guitar), Ben (guitar), Keanan (bass) and Jamison (drums/vape pen) drawing on years of experience playing together to make loose, intimate, impassioned fuzz-rock that’s wistfully melodic in all the right places. They will be touring BC in June to support the LP.
