Experienced is the l7th and latest album from artist/producer Mepho Brown. Brown has been officially producing music since '99, his first complete album production was with spoken word artist Aaron D. Spears' debut album "Thoughts of an Untamed Mind". The sonic beats combined with the heavy cadence and flow of spoken word combined for a ground-breaking sound for the genre. Soon afterward, Brown produced 5 beat-strumental albums - Soletherapy, IOM-Illusions of Motion, Beautiful Alien, Planet Groove-lah and Perspectives and a vocal album Buck Rodge 2008. Each album defining itself with specific sound characteristics defining the "mephonic-sound". "Experienced" is the return of the mephonic sound, still defined by the sonic beats but straight cut with a rock edge. Brown plays all guitar and instruments on this album leaving little to no sampling on tracks. An intriguing part of the production process was the discovery and influence of various classic rock artists such as Queen, Led Zeppelin, the Doors, Funkadelic and of course Jimi Hendrix. The parallels of hip-hop and rock is the driving idea behind the Run-DMC Rock-Box cover with Brown lending vocals and playing all guitar. With this sound comes the title which answers the classic album question posed by Hendrix in 1967 "Are you Experienced?" But most of all, "Experienced" is a collective explaining the evolution of Brown as of right now "this place and time/Brown on patrol n***a I'm out gettin mine/peep out how I shine so fly make you cry/Gucci loafers on my feet Brown tints on my eyes."
