When I met Mellowvybz, we immediately felt a connection with him and his controlled passion for music and music making. With a solid band and Mellowvybz producing, I wanted to make the album special; so I sought out to record my most recent songs using not only my bandmates, but as many of the musician friends I had, hence the reason for traveling up and down the coast to record. The music speaks for itself. You can feel the space in which we all worked, the sound swims, the beats are thick, the styles morph and intertwine, giving a real sense of continuity. The mellow fusion jazz Intro, The fusion funk hop of Butterfly Eyes, The hip hop acoustic melody in Mx2, the acoustic synchro-pop of Climbing, the heavy blues rock in Dreamer Scar, and the reggae fusion rock in Late and Go to Sleep, to name a few.
