简介
The members of Good Men & Thorough all met in high school, although it didn't all come together until the years later. "How the Vest was Won" marks the band's two year anniversary. The Good Men & Thorough originally met in Issaquah, WA but the band was officially formed in Seattle. With Reilly Whiting (guitar and vocals), Jason Thorning (bass and backup vocals) and Chris Lee (drums and backup vocals), each member brings an eclectic musical background. With tastes ranging from Blues, Soul, Rock, Grunge, Metal, Reggae, Hip-hop, Electronic, First Wave, Punk, Classical Composition and much more, "How the Vest was Won" is just a taste of what they plan to bring to the table. In this day an age a true appreciation for live music with actual instruments is not as prevalent as it used to be. That is not necessarily a bad thing, but an opportunity for a renaissance. Music has taken a crazy and exciting turn in the last you (and not so exciting); Good Men & Thorough wanted to make a rock album and this is what was produced. As a debut album it encapsulates the feel of the band but the style is ever changing and evolving. The album was recorded at Hall of Justice which is now owned by Chris Walla. Formally known as the Triangle, this is where Nirvana recorded their demos for "Bleach" and was also a recording location for many famous Seattle bands. The album was sound engineered by the very talented Don Gunn and was mastered by John McCaig. The lyrics touch on the inner-workings of relationships, communication (and lack thereof), personal acceptance, guilt, happiness, anger, peace and the pure need to just perform and entertain. As they say in their closing track "Curtains", "we've poured our hearts and souls into this, so you can take your mind of life." Living in the present moment is a beautiful thing. Hopefully when listening to this album or seeing the Good Men & Thorough live in concert, you too can appreciate the present moment and the serenity it brings. Thank you for your support, here is to many more Good Men & Thorough years. Oh, and thanks to Leroy for the swanky suits...
