Starting out in the Townsville music scene as the pianist for alternative rock group Father Waave in 2013, Joel made the move to start performing as a solo artist in 2014. He released his debut EP, Unbroken in the same year, and has done production work for a number of other local artists including Jamahaeg and James Ross. In 2015 Joel relocated to his hometown of Rockhampton where he released his second EP, Tombs, on September 25.
