简介
Info about NEIL MORE: I first entered the world of music as a DJ in around about 1984 (aged 14'ish). The 80's soul sound kept going through these years until house music exploded onto the club scene in 1988, which incidentally coincided with my eighteenth birthday. My first Dj'ing gigs centred around Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. 1988 also saw me joining Her Majesty's Royal Navy as a Weapon Engineering Mechanic. At HM governments expense I then proceeded to see just about every corner of the world (except the Falklands which BFBS saw fit to send me in 1998) which included eighteen months in Gibraltar and three and half years in Hong Kong. I reached Leading Weapon Engineer, passed my exams for Petty Officer and waited. While serving in the Navy I continued my interest in DJ'ing at several clubs in Portsmouth and at home (Luton). This developed into a interest in radio when I started and ran an internal radio station onboard HMS Bristol. (With a little help from BFBS tapes) Posting to HMS Rooke in 1992 brought my first direct contact with BFBS Gibraltar, upon which I presented myself at the BFBS studio's at South Barrack House, with the words "I can do that". Three months later and after much beer and bribery Kal Sutherland finally agreed, and gave me my first show. I continued as a volunteer for a year until I was posted back to the UK.I only spent a year in the UK before being posted to Hong Kong where I managed to continue with BFBS presenting dance, R&B and weekend breakfast shows. (Under the guidance of Rory Higgins and Damian Watson) After leaving Hong Kong on the day of the Handover I returned back to the UK via two months in Manila to leave the navy after nearly ten years, to pursue a career in broadcasting. I spent a short time late 1997 at Neptune Radio, a commercial station based in Kent before doing the an RSL in Dec/Jan 1998 in Catterick for BFBS and six weeks in the Falklands also with BFBS in Feb/Mar the same year. While in the Faklands I turned down the opportunity to join Surf 107 a dance formatted station based in Brighton. March 1998 I started full time with BFBS UK at Chalfont, presenting various shows, producing and using my club background providing anthem and upfront dance mixes for BFBS UK shows. The later part of '98 saw me becoming BFBS's Head Of Dance as well as concentrating more on production, my Dance Anthems show hitting the network and a heavy involvement with the much publicised launching of XL Friday which culminated in BFBS broadcasting the Ministry of Sound radio show. A big high point for me after being 'in' to the club scene for so long. 1999 saw a change of venue with my posting from BFBS UK to BFBS Brunei, in the August. Although back in the far east my commitments to BFBS's network dance output continue although in a lesser role with me providing the UK evening show club mixes. I still present the Ministry of sound programme although production is now handled be UK Evening Show presenter Gareth Brooks. . In August 2001 I arrived in Germany for BFBS. Firstly presenting the drive time show but have done or covered every daytime show at some point including Breakfast for long periods. 2002 saw RASS 2002 being one of the highlights With me handling all the on air promotion and organising the Saturday night line up which for the first time at RASS saw DJ's headlining as opposed to bands. I kicked off with the first set in front of thousands of people which steadily grew for the two headliners Sash and DJ Quicksilver who both had the RASS showground bouncing to a different beat. The clubbing vibe is alive and doing very nicely with the British Forces. Summer 2002 saw my brand new show Club Culture going live in Germany. Before hitting the network on Saturday nights at 11pm. I'm currently Head of promotions in Germany, presenting the Ministry of Sound program Friday's at 9pm, Club Culture at 9pm Saturday evening. Once a month I have a mix residency on Club Culture and have featured as guests such DJ's as Judge Jules, DJ Quicksilver, CJ Stone, Phats n Small, DJ Shog and Mr Phillips Plus many others. The last two summers have seen Club Culture feature a whole host of the worlds finest DJ's recorded live on the decks at various Venues and Events in Ibiza. (Including Judge Jules, Paul Van Dyk & Shapeshifters plus too many more to mention) I also produce the weekly dance and club features 'Neil Moore's Upfront Club Chart' & 'The UK Dance Singles Sales Chart'. My dance mixes can also be heard on the UK Evening Show Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursday at 9.30pm. on BFBS Radio 1 plus on radio stations in various locations across Germany and in Italy amongst others. Along with the radio production, I have been working the club circuit in Germany & Ibiza plus working with Jo sandas on 'Club Culture' the first Neil Moore production featuring Christine out on Redux Recordings at the end of October.
