简介

Dreams Enough to Share is a collection of original songs written by Richard Brown and arranged by The Fatherhood. Taking inspiration from experience - some as a migrant to Australia - and from the beautiful South Australian landscape, the songs are reflective and evocative. The album starts with Long Weekend, an upbeat song featuring the sublime tones of Chris Finnen's telecaster, mostly a cheerful, upbeat and poppy number but one which touches on the loss of a loved one in the middle bridge. Heathrow Behind is an honest account of the good and bad of moving 11,000 miles to live overseas, but it flows nicely as a song and closes with an upbeat tune led by Mark Hallam on the accordion, bringing a real folky feel to the early part of the album. Myponga Beach is stand-out example of what The Fatherhood can do, featuring ambient sounds of the sea recorded at this Fleurieu Peninsula beauty spot. It is a song about the contentment associated with being able to experience nature close nearby to home and with a young and precious family. Best Night Ever celebrates the sheer delight of going camping in the Australian bush with young children; it also showcases Finnen's delicate and laid-back lead style. Rain in the Mallee was written about the long drive across the Mallee country of South Australia and looking forward to the home destination ahead. It picks out many place names and descriptive views of the SA landscape. The songs keep coming, varied in beat, style and sound. Even the singers change with Sue Oldknow jumping on lead vocals on her own song "The Girl in the Orange Room". The album finishes with Friday 13th, as it opened, upbeat and bright, with Chris Finnen leading the string section beautifully Sharing his own Dreams through his immaculate Fender. It has been a long time coming, but The Fatherhood's debut album is well worth the wait and expectation.
