简介
Bemidji, Minnesota, native Brian Miller teams up with Randy Gosa of Wales, Wisconsin, to perform the Irish-influenced music once common in lumber camp bunkhouses throughout the Great Lakes region of the United States and Canada. A follow-up to Miller’s album "Minnesota Lumberjack Songs," this CD includes songs and dance tunes from North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ontario. Miller and Gosa accompany many of the songs with guitar, bouzouki, mandolin, harmonium, and tenor banjo. Included is a booklet with notes and historical photos. Reviews of Brian Miller's previous release "Minnesota Lumberjack Songs": "what a spectacularly wonderful production... Really terrific arrangements and performances throughout, to go with a delightfully representative selection of songs and tunes. And the notes and images are superb, as is the design. Just a stellar work in every respect." --James Leary, Co-Director, Center for the Study of Upper Midwestern Cultures “A wonderful exploration of an oftoverlooked facet of the Irish American experience.. ..brilliantly curated and superbly executed." --Daniel Neely, The Irish Echo “...a triumph on every level. Above all, it stays true to the shanty boy [lumberjack] tradition of being great entertainment.” --Tim Readman, Penguin Eggs
