The Monterey County Composers’ Forum was started in 2000 by Steve Ettinger and gave its first concert in November, 2000 in the music building at Hartnell College. Since then, the forum has been host to the world premieres of hundreds of new compositions by numerous composers. These concerts have been presented in Carmel, at the Carl Cherry Center for the Arts, and in Salinas—first at Hartnell College, and then at the First United Methodist Church. The group has been the subject of a lengthy article in the Coast Weekly and of a radio interview on KAZU.
