Singer/songwriter Tiny Barge formed the Big Chill in 1986 as a band that played great soul classics. He wanted a group that could dance and sing like the Temptations while they played together like the Stax-Volt rhythm section. The new band took its name from The Big Chill--a popular movie that featured a sound track of classic soul hits. With Tiny as leader and featured vocalist, his tried and true song list, professional standards, and the band's steadfast reputation, The Big Chill has headlined and shared stages with many of the great names of rock, soul, and country music.
