The idea for this project was born simply out of Sianna's extraordinary voice. Trained in multiple esoteric vocal techniques, her dynamic and tonal range spans a spectrum of colors and emotions, from earth-shaking belts to gossamer filigree. Although her early work consisted of writing and recording minimalist alt-pop songs (which she performed at NYC music mainstays like The Bitter End, The Bottom Line, and CB's Gallery), Sianna's unique skill-set landed her session gigs on a wide array of film and music projects. With her 5+ octave range, she created ethnic and otherworldly performances for U.S.-based and international composers and artists, including the overdubbing of her voice dozens of times to create the effect of a Bulgarian women's choir. One anecdote that shows the power of Sianna's voice: during rehearsals for an artistic concept album, Sianna unintentionally cracked a beer stein while hitting a very loud, extremely high note. Our goal with this music is to interweave Sianna's exceptional voice with symphonic and contemporary electronic textures in order to engage the subtler senses of the listener. Many of these songs are based on melodies that are sung with an invented language or have no words at all, striving to connect with the listener on deeper emotional and spiritual levels. - Federico González-Runnebaum (co-composer, producer, performer)
