Distortion aka James Myatt is what you can call an old-school-head. Living close to the windy city of Chicago, his music breaths the House-vibes of his hometown and the Techno-soul of Detroit. James works as a truck driver during the summer and runs a snowplow company in the wintertime. This means he is on the road a lot, where he catches pure American atmosphere and spirit day-by-day, what can definitely be heared in his music.

With the 'Battle Your Head EP' James delivers his first full EP to Connaisseur after his successful remix for Estroe's classic 'Driven' for our 5th anniversary compilation CINQ earlier this year. He delivers 4 classy cuts between alluring and rough vibes, with which he proves his outstanding feeling for an authentic Chicago and Detroit sound.
