简介
Josh Green was born Joshua David Green, of singing and guitar playing parents in Solvang, California, a city known for its quaint Danish Windmills and cobblestone sidewalks. He moved to Tennessee as a child and over the years was nourished into a dynamic, passionate and soulful singer/composer in the Smoky Mountains, famous as “The Birthplace of Country Music.” Yet his approach is sophisticated, heartfelt and sexy. Josh is an accomplished violinist, saxophonist, guitarist and singer. As a young adult, Josh worked his way back to California singing in bars and coffeehouses throughout Tennessee, Georgia, Arizona and California. His eclectic background has helped produce an urbane yet relaxed style that is polished and classy. In 1998 and 1999 he toured with Jennifer Paige, of the global number one hit “Crush” fame, playing guitar and singing backgrounds. He has appeared with Seal, Bryan Adams, Cher, 98 Degrees, Inner Circle, Shawn Mullins, Edwin McCain, Smashmouth, Rick Springfield, Sixpence Non the Richer and many more. In Los Angeles for the past three years he was a regular at the world famous venues, the Viper Room, the Roxy and the Whiskey on Sunset Blvd. In 2004 he won the “King of the Springs” battle of the bands performing solo in Palm Springs, California. Josh was also nominated by the LA Music Awards in 2005 as the Singer/Songwriter of the Year. You will also hear his single “Let it all go” on the upcoming short film produced by the John Wayne Cancer Foundation and his song “Cry at Night” in the film “Low Places.” You have probably seen or heard Josh Green on the Sally Jessee Rafael Show, the Rick Dees Show or the upcoming show Lennie Rose. Josh has recently opted to return to the home of his youth in East Tennessee where he is recording his first full length CD in a converted dairy barn no less. “I have been influenced by the varied likes of James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Van Morrison, Steely Dan and Counting Crows. I am blown away by the quality of the musical talent here at home in the hills of East Tennessee and with the fervor of their performances. They literally live, breathe and love their music here. And the milk barn where we are recording has a sound unlike anything I have been able to achieve in a sound studio in LA. It’s great fun being here at home again.” Josh Green’s new CD, Sinner/Songwriter is due to be released by Spring 2007.
