简介
"Just the Messenger" is an important album for the Hip Hop world. Through d**e lyrics and bangin' beats, it provides the listener with "edutainment," including much relevant information. The featured track "For the Love of It," features the legendary Last Emperor. Nine different producers bring together ten tracks of pure Hip Hop that you can bang in a car with your boys or play for your children. Songs such as "9-11 Research," "Perry Mason," and "the Conquest" go deep into our world and how it has been set up by puppet masters behind the curtains. The opening track, "ReBirth and ReDirection," features KaotIQ and provides a perfect entrance into a world where it is law to take responsibility for the messages you put out into space. The second track, "Reporters," featuring TrusT and Legit, features all three emcees essentially as journalists who are charged with reporting much of the unknown (or slept on) information of this age. "Street Comics," featuring Tem Blessed, talks about graffiti art as comics for the street. "The First Time," featuring R-Teest, details the first time both artists freestyled and took flight. The final track "Betta Believe It," goes through the personal journeys of First Be as a father, organizer, and filmmaker. "Just the Messenger" epitomizes Hip Hop's spirit of collaboration and its ability to take the pulse of the people and report about the state of the world. As Rakim once said "To me, MC means move the crowd."
