Margarita Monet & The Edge Of Paradise is a rock band founded in Los Angeles, California by a singer/pianist and songwriter Margarita Monet and lead guitarist/songwriter Dave bates. The two met over a single “Mystified” when the production team was looking for a guitar player and the two artist started working in collaboration. Their first album Mystique consists of two singles “Mystified” and “What I Call Love” produced and co-written by Three Guys from Jersey Records, Paul Drago, Danny Bracuto and Jeff Dingsor. The album creates and signifies the direction of where the band is taking their sound, the melodic fusion of classical piano and heavy guitars collide into a unique and epic sound. Members Margarita Monet, born Margarita Martirosyan in Feb 1990 is an actress, singer and a classically trained pianist. Performing since a very early age, with theater companies, and a vast classical repertoire, she has made her way from Europe to the United States. Recently Margarita studied acting and music at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. While living in New York, she has acted in Off Broadway plays, independent short and feature films and sang around the city's lounges. With her striking stage presence, daring keyboard skills and invigorating rock music she will continue to captivate the crowd. Dave Bates grew up in Connecticut, picking up guitar at a young age he quickly accelerated in his skills and joined the popular local band as their guitar player. Playing all over the East Coast, Dave decided to take it all the way and moved to Los Angeles to pursue music. Graduating from Musician’s Institute, GIT he was featured on Musician’s Institute/GIT promotional CD entitled “MI JAMS Vol.2”. He has over 28 years’ experience as a guitar player and has amassed numerous studio and club dates nationally. Dave has played and recorded with veteran recording artists including Robin McAuley, Gregg Bissonette, Tony Franklin, David Paris, Bob Kullick, Rick Steel, Bjorn Englen, Brett Chassen and others. “Bleed” was his former band which features vocals by Robin McAuley, drums by Gregg Bissonette, and bass by Tony Franklin. Margarita Monet & the Edge of Paradise can be identified in the Rock category, with a hard edge, their music has influences of Modern Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Pop Rock and Symphonic Metal. The band may be compared to artists like Muse, Led Zeppelin, Evanescence, 30 Seconds To Mars, Metallica, U2, Symphony X and classical influences of legendary composers.
