Inspired by a young homeless kid in Long Beach, the song Bring Me Down by 3rd Alley plays with the prevalent lunacy that hobos seem to have in common, with people who care for them and try to give opportunities to, yet they stay on the streets and self medicate with drugs and "change." The song, recorded at Rise Above Studios in the LBC, consists of Zack Walters' vocals and guitar work laced over beats by Todd Forman. "The guitar riff is one that I had been carrying around for a lot of years and was happy to finally have it come together with a melody," explained Zack Walters, "Its weird cause there was this early 20's bum who people knew from high school and came from a good family." When asked, Todd Forman's response to what he has to say about the song was "love the guitar sounds and I'm proud of my morse code bit at the end," fair enough, also adding "one of the biggest black marks on America is our lack of an appropriate safety net for food, shelter, clothing, or medical treatment for the mentally ill. It's sad that the largest mental health institution in the country (if not the world) is our state and federal prisons.
