In November 2016, Verses Records will release it’s latest compilation of new music from the burgeoning Washington, DC experimental music scene, collecting some of the area’s most talented and expressive artists on cassette and digital download. Verses Records began in January 2016 by Douglas Kallmeyer and Dennis Kane and despite being less than one year old, has 3 cassette releases, 1 CD release and several digital albums and EPs. Ranging from electronic (Dubpixel/Gel Sol) to classical/electronic hybrids (Domingues and Kane, Rogue Collective) to ambient/experimental/unclassifiable (Insect Factory, James Wolf, Tag Cloud), The Verses Records Sampler 2 covers an amazing amount of sonic territory - a testament to the diversity and liveliness of the Washington, DC experimental music scene.
