Sharon Meni is the results of its two creators, Sharon Laloum and Meni Sonino, and is deeply rooted in their own life experiences. The concept album is the combination of the different periods that 'Sharon Meni' experienced in its twenties: it reveals the process of maturation and disillusion, the pursuit of freedom and the price to pay along the way. Sharon Laloum and Meni Sonino started working together several years ago, brought together by the will to combine and to merge conflicting musical world - classical orchestration for a string quartet alongside aggressive electronic sounds; sincere singing along with vocal sound effects; classic song structure combined with a new and different musical form; and intimate texts served with intense music. In a joint process of over a year, the song Slow Motion was created, paving the way for the creation of the whole album and the show SHARON MENI as it is today. In the creative process that followed Slow Motion, Sharon Laloum and Meni Sonino explored, with both sounds and texts, the world of "the character". They experimented all kind of compositions and arrangements in order to find and precise the nature of their character, who should "she" be, and what message they wanted to convey. They collected and pulled together a concept album containing nine segments (6 songs and 3 instrumental pieces) in three languages – English, French and Hebrew. Just like "the character", the music in the album is full of contradictions, contrasts and changes. It is rich, intimate, intense, sad, happy, aggressive and soft – eclectic, all of which create an extraordinary musical experience.
