Turning up with her debut iteration for Upon You's newly minted Blue Series - a sub-collection of music featuring special cover art courtesy of Sven-Uwe Kaiser, here comes Juli Lee: a Zurich-based DJ and producer whose name shall ring a bell to local party heads, and who previously released on the likes of Inyan Music. A punch-packing slice of solar-powered electronics built for straight peak time action, 'Cosmic Quake' finds the up-and-coming Swiss producer pulling out an elegant blend of tribal music patterns and lush, deep house ambiences, all wrapped in an electro pop membrane. As Iniko's sensuous vocal lines seamlessly unfold their incantatory hoodoo, the track conjures up flocks of cascading bleeps and drip-tease piano stabs mounted on a solid bass chassis, making this both the perfect companion for softer climactic moments and after-ready communion. Up on remix duty, Upon You co-founder Marco Resmann takes the track for a ride into more opaque, dreamy territories, emphasizing on the bass raucousness and extrapolating the vaporous nature of the original to hypnotic effect.
