The Scottish Smallpipes are a close relative to the more popular Highland Pipes, but with a much softer, muted sound. Often called parlour pipes, because of their pleasing timbre, they are inherently relaxing.

This recording presents a slightly "new age" approach by combining the pipes with an already soothing sound track of ocean, wind and other nature sounds. The melodies are old and new and conjure up a feeling of ancient times and a restful, peaceful state of mind.
