About Smartkid, Omar Currie better known as Smartkid. Managing Director of Smartkid Records Company Limited founded in 2007, As the years passed the company grew and it became necessary to launch Smartkid Records’ recording studio which is currently a multipurpose "state of art" recording studio located in Portmore, St. Catherine Jamaica. The studio was established in 2010 and is now recognized as one of the best multipurpose recording studios located in Portmore. The company also see it necessary to launch our official website in 2011, called smartkidrecords.com One of his first projects involved producing and managing upcoming artistes such as Bono-G and Influential. Our studio specializes in audio editing and mixing, demo duplicates, vocal recordings, publishing, booking stage shows, event planning, etc. Smartkid originally started singing at a very early age but found that without adequate support it was not easy to make the transition into the music industry. Smartkid is very passionate about music and possess impeccable work ethics. His interest in singing faded but He remained ardent and committed to one day becoming a main player in the music business. He began promoting parties and the results were overwhelming allowing him to use this opportunity to integrate into the music fraternity. It became obvious that there are many talented people in Jamaica and other part of the world who struggle, like He did, to break into the music arena. It was at that time that He realized that He really wanted to be instrumental in assisting these persons with the honing of their talents and getting them recognized. His dream of becoming a Producer/Studio Engineer and Artiste Manager became actualized through much hard work, persistence and commitment. He have worked with some of the most renowned entertainers, Just to name a few including Beenie Man, Zamunda, Lutan Fyah, Spragga Benz, Sizzla, Christopher Martin, Frisko Kid, Andrew and Wadda Blood, Junior.Reid and others. In 2010, the company published the Life Riddim CD which featured artistes like Zamunda, Influential, Bono-G, Lutan Fyah, Linkage Internal and Frisko Kid. The Life Riddim CD is a big hit on the radio stations, YouTube and also in the streets. In 2011 the company produce the Venom Rhythm project. This rhythm features artistes such as Sizzla, Alva, Zamunda, Spragga Benz, Lutan Fyah, New Kidz, Tajji, Singer Jah and Renegad. The Venom Rhythm maintained steady airplay both local and international and top lots of charts. Smartkid Records still continue to work hard and producing Hit singles from then now just to name a few, Progress Rhythm with song titled "Work for what you want by Lutan Fyah" which maintained a high buzz throughout the world, Etc. The company is currently working on new project called "Equilibrium Album" This project is in its final stage of completion and will be released soon 2016. Smartkid Records Label continues to work hard to take the music to the highest level and continue the good work in the music industry that was set by the great Bob Marley and others.
