Recorded at the same studio as Nirvanas’ “nevermind’ Man Overboard ignites with three fiery tracks of riff heavy arena rock anthems reminiscent of Motorhead or Kiss alive !! and stuns the listener in preparation for the musical journey about to ensue. With a quick snap of direction, the albums title track “man overboard” oozes a reggae/blues feel as the listener is treated to a soulful confession of a mans desire to seek refuge in a sea of chaos. This concept loosely defines the album as a whole and is explored set against a texture of soundscapes varying punk, metal and pop but firmly rooted in rock. Punctuating the true dynamics of “man overboard”, the album closes with the love ballad “Tidal Wave” a masterful hypnotic moment of bliss that draws the audience close to the band and inextricably disintegrates in the searing crescendo of its closing moments.
