The Four Winds perform Native American Flute Music and Storytelling. Their adventures began in January 2013 and have performed at several venues across Colorado. Larry Unverzagt- Native American Flutes Larry was raised in Missouri and served in the Army during the first Gulf War. Returning home from Iraq, he struggled with sleepless nights and the demons of PTSD. After discovering the therapeutic teachings at Sacred Hoop Ministries, he embraced his ancestral Cherokee heritage (which includes his passions for storytelling and playing the Native American flute). When he performs, it is a very personal experience. His spirit brings a calm that listeners describe as "spontaneous healing". Larry’s hope is to help bridge the gap between Native American spirituality and the modern world, to help bring about the healing of Mother Earth. Cassandra Unverzagt- Percussion Born in California, Cassandra discovered a passion for drumming through her Ojibwa heritage and from attending drum circles. She and Larry have been married for 30 years; they have two children and two grandchildren. They found peace together at Sacred Hoop Ministries and hope to pass on the spiritual healing that strengthened their marriage. Cassandra's spirit brings the heartbeat of Father Sun through her unique rhythmic styles. Muriel Shickman- Acoustic Guitar & Percussion Born and raised in Massachusetts, Muriel has spent the past 20 years composing, recording, and performing various types of music on several different instruments. Her Seneca heritage and other ancestral ties have brought her to where she is today with her music and her shamanic healing practice. Muriel’s spirit creates melody, and she brings the emotion of Grandmother Moon into her passionate guitar playing.
