简介
Oboist Margaret Herlehy's debut album, Café 1930 is the culmination of a two year collaboration with Boston based jazz/classical guitarist David Newsam exploring the oboe as a lead voice in the popular instrumental music of South America. The CD includes Choro Standards, the evocative lyrical Tango, Café 1930 from Astor Piazzolla's History of the Tango, and selections from Musique Populaires Bresilienes by Celso Machado. Performing with Guitar, Piano, Pandeiro and Flute in traditional settings, Margaret Herlehy appreciates the qualities of her instrument that bring a freshness to the genre in this first ever Brazilian/Jazz Oboe Album.
