Policulture, the Original Mountain Reggae band from Boulder, CO announces the release of their sophmore album entitled Mountains to Cross fueled by perseverance and the courage to overcome life’s hardships. Available worldwide on AUG. 17th 2018 this album is composed of intricate melodies, energetic grooves, and liberating messages. Recorded at Blackdog Studios in Rochester, NY with executive producer Matt Goodwin (Easy Star All-Stars, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad). The band’s preceding album, The Bridge, was recorded back in 2014 and now, 4 years later, Policulture is ready to reveal the progression in their craft. 10 spirited songs represent their development and stand equal to the incredible talent currently in the reggae music scene. The album, Mountains to Cross, features a number of acclaimed musicians in the reggae community including Kirsty Rock and Ruff Scott of the Easy Star All-Stars and James Searl of Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad. These outstanding guests amplify Policulture’s music to new levels. In order to fully immerse themselves in the creation of their album, Policulture decided to fly out to Rochester, NY to record with an integral musician and producer in the band’s life, Matthew Goodwin. Goodwin is a keyboardist for some of the reggae scenes most renowned bands including Easy Star All-Stars, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, The Movement, and formally John Brown’s Body. He also has a unique relationship with the band being the cousin of Saxophonist, Kyle Jerome. This intimate connection gave Policulture an extraordinary opportunity in their creative process, resulting in a collection of songs that embody the true spirit of raw creativity. Funded by a sustainable Kickstarter album release campaign, this record demonstrates the band’s mission to influence the world around them. By offering eco-friendly merchandise and socially conscious volunteer efforts as rewards, the band raised $11,000 to complete their album release. Now the band aims to give back to their community and the environment as much as they have received. Not only with messages of perseverance entwined throughout each song, but with actions that speak louder than words. Policulture has announced an official album release show at their hometown venue, The Fox Theatre, on Saturday, July 28th. Following this performance, the group will depart on a Pacific Northwest Tour during the month of August to states including; Utah, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, and Montana.
