简介
Most of the songs on this CD are story songs. Some are true, some I made up. "I Was Bound For Glory" is about a seventeen year old in 1861 who wants to join the Confederate Army. His parents aren't too keen on the idea. He decides to take the family's only horse and steel away in the middle of the night by the light of the moon. "Blackberry Wine" is a true story. My Dad would take my brother, sister, and I Blackberry picking every summer. We liked eating the blackberries, but we didn't like the snakes or chiggers. My Mom made tasty cobblers and great jam out of them. What my Dad did was make some tasty wine. "Johnstown Flood Took 'em Away From Me" is about a friend of mine's Grandfather who lived in Johnstown, PA. On May 31, 1889 an earthen dam burst above the town. A sixty foot wall of water descended upon the town. It drowned over two thousand people including my friend's Grandfather's parents, brother, and sister. He was only five years old at the time. "My Baby Won The Lottery" looks at the situation if your significant other won the lottery, would your life change? You would hope so, but maybe not. "Bipolar Chihuahua" deals with my girlfriend's dog. One minute she's sweet, and the next minute she's biting your ankle. "How Would Jesus Drive" came about when I was driving to work and I had someone tailgating me and I noticed that the car had a "Jesus" tag on the front bumper. Instead of getting mad I started writing this song. I'm not sure where the song "Sometimes" came from. There is something and someone for everyone "Under The Sun". I started writing "I'd Just Like To See You" while thinking of my dog who had passed away after 13 years and I missed him. The rest of the song evolved from there. "Holdin": It's good to have something or someone to hold on to. "Finally Found My Soul": In November, 2005 I had to go in the hospital and have open heart surgery. I had six by-passes. When I got back home, I picked up my resonator guitar, which I hadn't played in a long time, and wrote this song. "One Of My Brothers Has Fallen" is about my good friend Phil Germaine. We played music together for a long time and I miss him every day.
