Return 2 Johto EP Jungle Stomp Pipe organ stabs and distant hats build up to the signature 'Kill dem' at the drop. A rolling dubwise bass-line then takes over and eases us into the opening track of this EP. The second drop switches up into something much more gritty. East Wind Here our journey into sound system music continues to deepen. A new solid 808 bass-line reminds us of Jungle stomps determination; However the spacious vibes created by the echoing synth stabs build a sense that the listener (or composer!) is being chased. Return 2 Johto The title track of the EP, Return 2 Johto alludes to places that bring back fantastical yet distant memories. A wobbly synth and fat bass-line coupled with aggressive kick patterns combine to form a somewhat avant-garde rendition of '07-'08 style dubstep. Ancient Relic We finish the EP on an especially reflective vibe. Reverb showered stabs and an echoing snare create the sense of being inside a grand cathedral or underground chamber whilst a pulsing bass fills the space.
