简介

Recorded at SkR Studios in Hollywood, CA October 2012 Produced by Ian Down Lightnin' Woodcock - vocals, guitar, percussion Clayton Kemble - guitar Will Lefevre - bass John Lord - drums Lightnin’ Woodcock is downtown Los Angeles’ semi-legendary filthy punk rock bluesman; he’s a bad man who exhibits unusual prowess on guitar and growls some of the most perverted blues you’ll ever hear. Lightnin’ claims to have sold his soul in exchange for the ability to perform musical miracles, such as playing Jimi Hendrix with his hand bound in an oven mitt. Woodcock’s band The Bad Muthafuckaz provide an often-aggressive backdrop for his bluesy narrative, telling salacious tales of sex, drugs, voodoo and having the blues in DTLA… and how to beat the blues. "Lightnin’ is often asked where I am originally from. That’s a complicated question to answer, goddammit. "Lightnin’ was born a poor white child in Humboldt County back in 1968. Lightnin’ moved around, from Marin County to Germany, then to Atlanta and back to Germany until 1986 when I made Los Angeles my home. Since that time, Lightnin’ also lived briefly in Austin, TX and on a mountain in Southern Oregon, but otherwise I’ve spent about a quarter century in LA. "Lightnin’s first band was a psychedelic-prog-punk band called Psychedelicatessen (1988-1994), which eventually led to me becoming Spike Liberty in the punk rock-pro wrestling-performance art band Foreign Object. During that time I met Liz McGrath, which led to me playing guitar for Miss Derringer (many years later) for several tours and one studio album, Winter Hill. Sean Wheeler (who also sang on 2 Derringer records) recruited Lightnin’ for his side-supergroup Sun Trash, and I have been honored to play every Sun Trash gig so far. "Lightnin’ Woodcock has been making audiences blush and howl with my dirty blues since 2007. In 2008-2009 Lightnin’ Woodcock & the Bad Muthafuckaz started touring, I quit Miss Derringer and recorded my debut CD Ride The Lightnin‘, which was finally released on my own label in 2011. Lightnin’ followed up RTL’s humor with a darker record, the D.T.L.A.M.F. EP, and I have 2 new full length albums currently in pre-production. Lightnin’ loves you all, and I encourage you to keep smoking them joints."
