简介

NAME: Tucker Booth ALIASES: Tom Kristian, Tom Dobbins, Jesus D.O.B.: June 1, 1979 HEIGHT: 6'3" WEIGHT: 200 OCCUPATIONS: folk-rapper, Public Relations Director of The Frozen Food Section EDUCATION: on sebatical from Principia College Tucker Booth was born on June 1st, 1979 in Portland, Oregon. Over his first 10 years on Earth he learned how to sing, dance, act, read, write, tell jokes, and play basketball. These skills carried over into his high school years and when he moved to Elsah, IL in 1989 he continued to pursue stand-up comedy as his area of interest. As Booth developed the focus shifted to acting and singing, most notably with fellow singer/songwriter Tom Kristian. Starting in 1994, Tucker and Kristian created Spacious Hitchhiking, a 3-piece rock band featuring Brad Rockabrand on Drums. When Spacious disbanded in 1995 Booth and Rockabrand went on to start The Linkoln Logs (an eery precursory vision of modern-day rock rappers Linkoln Park? you decide). Playing mostly in the Jerseyville and Alton, Illinois section of the Midwest was the backdrop for humble beginnings that went on to become a powerful human stage show. The Logs disbanded in 1996 and Booth soon hooked up with Tom Kristian again; this time in the folk-rap band Sweetland. Sweetland paved the way for a sonic landscape of lyrical poetry fused over traditional folk pop tempo. The band also featured Principia Anti-Icon Ed Pfeifer on Bass and pre-pubescent Wonder Drummer Collin Dowcett. Sweetland eventually recorded a full-length CD of songs entitle "God Bless Los Angeles" which is currently available via Tom Kristian: kristian@insideinteractive.com or tuckerbooth@hotmail.com. Tucker and Tom parted ways in 1999. Tucker went to school at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, the alma mater of such St. Louis and Chicago Hip-Hop Icons as DJ Crucial, Carl Sagan (aka Hi-Fidel), Serengeti, and several other members of Fortune 5000 records. Tucker Booth (the Band) played numerous shows in the Carbondale area over the 1999/2000 school year. These venues included Boobies, Hangar 9, Copper Dragon, and numerous underground house parties that solidified their fame. Built as a Jam Band, the group consisted of Booth on Lead Vocals, Jeff Wilkes on Lead Guitar, Ryuta Nagai on Bass, Zach Herlihan on Keyboards, and Mike Bruno on Drums. Tucker Booth was ousted from Tucker Booth in 2000 when his band mates revolted and staged a coup against him. This taught Tucker a valuable lesson...make sure to do things for himself first, so as not to get double-crossed. In the interim Tucker began to write his own music on the acoustic guitar. With a fierce belief in freestyle rap and improvisational music he began to blossom as a folk-rapper that caused a scene when he played in public. While living in L.A. in 2000 he worked as a personal assistant for Val Kilmer, regularly rapped in Santa Monica on the 3rd Street Promenade and at a weekly Lyricist Lounge at the Puma Store Los Angeles. As Tucker developed as a rapper he decided to go back to school in Illinois to build his knowledge of self. Booth left L.A. and attended Principia College in Elsah, Illinois in the Fall of 2001. He immediately hooked up with Ethan, a producer and guitar aficionado from Rhode Island. Tucker and Ethan produced a 3-Song demo called "Princple" which saw the genesis of one of Booth's new songs "What Goes Around." "Principile" featured the 1st collaborative effort with Jonathan Toth from Hoth and DJ Crucial. J-Toth was also featured on an alternate track entitled "Patience and Contentment." Tucker went on sabbatical from Principia in Winter 2001 and took to the streets of University City, St. Louis. Over the course of the next 2 years Booth played music in the U-City Loop while he panhandled for money and sold music on the street. He waged a public battle with Vintage Vinyl and was eventually banned from the store. He took up residence at The Frozen Food Section and began working with Jonathan Toth from Hoth as the Director of Public Relations. This involved a great deal of street promotion and travel. In the Fall of 2002 Tucker Booth went on the 1st Frozen Food Trip, going over 7 states and 2 countries in just under 4 months. Featuring stops in Kansas City, Lawrence, Denver, Boulder, Aspen, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Oakland, San Francisco, Berkeley, and Tortola, British Virgin Islands. In each of these locations he played street music, sold and gave away J-Toth's Brainwashing CDs, and set up a Hip-Hop Supernetwork that remains to this day. Now in 2003, Tucker Booth is celebrating the release of his new Folk-Rap CD Will Rap 4 Food. Since its release Tucker and Jonathan have played a number of shows in St. Louis, Chicago, Carbondale, and Elsah with The Frozen Food Section. Now in December, Tucker is currently on the 2nd Frozen Food Trip, continuing to chase the ghost of a lucrative record deal. If you have any interest in Tucker Booth for booking or other inquiries he can be reached at (618) 374-5357 or through jonathan@thefrozenfoodsection.com. In the immortal words of Booth himself..."Your Time is Now!"
