These albums, using the medium of the piano, provide a mixture of quieter and more active music. The song lists are organized to create an interesting flow of different moods. There is a conversational quality to the music: stories are told, a variety of emotions presented, sonic environments created, all from a unique musical perspective. These pieces cannot easily be placed in a category, such as jazz, classical, new age or minimal music, but have elements of multiple styles. Listen to the albums when alone in the evening, or have them in the background at a dinner party. You’ll find the music is quite versatile.

The creative process began with improvisations, using a digital piano attached to a midi recorder. The midi information was then entered into a digital audio workstation and developed into finished compositions. The pieces are therefore highly structured, but with a fresh and flowing improvisational quality as well. A digitally sampled Steinway concert grand is used as the sound for all the pieces. If these compositions were to be played in concert, some would be for solo piano, others would be for piano duet.
