Ely was born out of a situation in my life where I was part of a band that had a lot of cool opportunities ahead of us, and long story short, the producer of our record didn't want me to be a part of the band anymore. It didn't have anything to do with me personally, but he just thought it would be better to have 4 people in the band and not 5. He wanted to run the band more like a business that would sell products, rather than a project that was filled with passionate people bringing music to a dark world. Sadly, the rest of the band conceded to his wishes and I was out. But I wasn't going to let that get me down. I went home and recorded my first song, "Like It's 1975." Shortly after release, it got put on multiple playlists on Spotify with thousands of followers and in just over 2 months, my song had reached nearly 200,000 streams. It was a dream come true. People liked what I had written, and hopefully it made their day to hear my voice in their ears. That's my hope with this album. That it simply makes you want to dance the night away and not let the darkness of our world get you down :)
