• Originally hailing from Atlanta Georgia, Jewell Fortenberry (Jay Dub) received his Bachelors of Classical Piano Performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio, studying with teachers Peter Takacs and Francis Walker-Slocum, as well as studying jazz music under pianist/organist Dan Wall. Jay Dub has performed as a classical solo act as well as a band leader in multiple locations around the world including being featured in concert in Germany at Halmuhle zu Bissersheim and Wolfratshausen, as well as performing as a guest on National Public Radio's “From The Top”. And “Making The Grade”. He was featured as a guest performer for the National Black Arts festival and for the Atlanta Chapter of the National Recording Arts and sciences, performing alongside such artists as Usher and Kenny Lattimore in honor of the late Ray Charles. In 2004 the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany also presented him in a solo piano concert. Jay Dub has served as the opening artist for acts ranging from Grateful Dead rocker Bruce Hornsby to rap artists Talib Qweli and Little Brother. • Since his move to Beijing China in 2009, Jay Dub has continued to perform internationally in places such as Shanghai, Guangzhou, as well as Hong Kong, Chinese Taibei, Russia and Thailand. He has served as Producer/Music Director on a number of projects, most notably for Chinese recording artist Tia Ray and his own band “Tha Knutz” that won the Red Bull up-and-coming band competition and has been featured on BTV. • As a Producer/Keyboardist Jay Dub has been featured on Chinese rap artist Shuang Zi's most recent studio album, as well as on a Buddhist Chant studio album entitled “Planting a Seed” composed by Kemin Zhang. He was a featured Music Producer for CCTV's “VOICE of China” and serves as a producer on Tia Ray's upcoming studio album. He was a featured producer on American recording artist The Author's album “The City That Reads” and American recoding artist Heretic's album “Long Time Coming”. As an Emcee/Producer he has already released his first album entitled “The Meanz to the Endz” through his Hip-hop group “The Triadz”, a short solo album entitled “The Rich Dreamz EP” and will release a full studio Hip-hop album in 2014 called “One Step Closer”. He was a featured performer for the “WOOHx3” music video sponsored by the Red Bull & Face Color companies. • Since 2013 Jay Dub has served as a principal keyboardist for Hong Kong recording artist Khalil Fong (Soulboy方大同) and his “Lights Out” World Tour, Cheun Kun and his “The Way” Concert Series, and artists/singing group “MIC”as well as Music Director for Tia Ray's “The Project 300” Concert Series sponsored by the Gold Typhoon record label. He now serves as Music Director and Lead Singer/Rapper for his own contemporary music group “J.Crew” featured in music festivals from Dong Hai to Hohhot, Inner Mongolia. They have been featured performers on the JZ international music festivals since 2012.
