Sweet Undertow is steeped in the American roots music played on daddy’s radio — from Jimmie Rodgers to Big Mama Thornton, Leadbelly to Johnny Cash, Townes Van Zandt to Tom Waits. Long, wild years on the road, mixed with a deep base in country, blues, soul and American roots, shaped Sweet Undertow into a modern take on the American folk tradition, built through a decade of playing with and learning from other artists in America, India, Ukraine, France, Singapore and Vietnam. Sweet Undertow is currently based out of The Convent Arts Collective in San Francisco, California, and they’re coming to a town near you.
