Risk It All: This song is the song that got everything started. I wrote it when I was thirteen and could only badly strum it on my first acoustic guitar. However, in my mind I could hear what it would sound like with a full band. From that day forward I dreamed of producing and recording my own music. The imagery used in this song is being on the edge of a cliff like the Grand Canyon (I have lived in AZ too long!). It is a song about being so in love that you’re willing to sacrifice yourself for another. Fool: This is a song I wrote with my good friend Rachael Lynde. It is one of my favorite songs to play live. It is about two people that have found a love so real and genuine that others cannot accept it. To others they look like fools, but they’re ok with that. Electric: This song I also wrote with Rachael Lynde and my friend Toshi helped record it. It is a fun song about how love brings what is dead back to life. My favorite line in this song is “I can’t hold this smile back because your love has found me.” Castoff: I wrote this song first by humming a melody of the chorus on my way back from class. For months, I could not put the feeling I got from the song into words. The lyrics didn’t come until later that year when I became a lifeguard. After sitting for hours in the sun throughout July in Arizona the lyrics finally came to me. It is a song about awakening broken dreams. It is a song to persevering and letting go even when the outcome is unknown. Until Forever: This is another love song. As humans we constantly want to figure out everything and understand how it works. We often do this with love. This is a song about wanting a love that has depth. A love that perseveres and does not end even in hard times. A love that two can endlessly explore.
