Mostly is intense homemade electronica from a Southern California coed duet. The full range of live techno utilizes a rock and roll formula with a cooler toolbox: the sleek but guttural hipster vibe of synth and drum machines are bones under the skin of organic keyboard and vocal melody. The product is edgy but palpable. Defying the traditionally castrating sub-categories of electronica, Mostly's Dancefloor Macabre is refreshingly sundry, a journey that offers lots of experiences, not just ten different versions of the same one. It’s warmer, more personal, more specifically confessional than what is typically classified as techno, but just as abrasive, just as gut moving and danceable.
