Julio Martins was born in Brazil at 13.07.61 in Cachoeiras de Macacu (Rio de Janeiro) He studing Piano Conservatorio in Niterói city (RJ) and Musical University(UFRJ) in Rio de Janeiro city . He studing Arrange, Contemporary Harmony and Improvisation with Teachers from Berklee School Boston. Living in Europa since 1984 (Switzerland) , he found the Banda Zoá im 1995. Banda Zoá is a Musician Cooperative and play diferent styles of Brazil and Latin music like: Samba, Forró,Axé, Salsa, Merengue, Latin Haus, Bossa Nova, and also Reggae,Blues, Funk , Soul … Banda Zoá is the must famous Brazilian Band in Switzerland, special in the German part with a very big reference like 8 x Montreux Jazz Festival, 4x ZuriFest, many opening band for famous artist like: Gilberto Gil, Djavan, Jorge Benjor, Banda Eva , Banda Olodum, Timbalada...... The album Zoá Collection # 1 is a sample collection taking songs from other 6 Band´s albuns. At momente the Banda Zoá is working together with the ZOA RADIO TV on www.brasilmusic.ch promoting events for the Brazilian Community in Switzerland.
