简介
stereosoul is a four-piece modern rock band based in northern new jersey that writes three minute tunes about the little things that matter so much in the everyday...formed as cosmic avenger in 1995 by joon quinn and gene pompilio (songs, singing, guitar, drums), they soon added longtime college friend john moller (synth bass, keyboards)...influenced by 60's and 70's AM radio, as well as the alternative rock movement of the 80's and 90's, they developed a sound combining the melodoc sensibilities of british invasion pop with a unique view of the modern world...a cd, "the sunlight diner & the meaning of life," was well-received by the press and earned the group a trip to los angeles to perform in the prestigious international pop overthrow...the disc was featured on local, national, and international top ten lists, and received airplay on US college radio stations, including freeform trailblazers WFMU 91.1FM, as well as heavy rotation overseas on syndicated shows...they had songs placed on various compilation cds, playing to numerous festival crowds...in 2001, the band released a home-recorded effort, "something on the radio," to critical acclaim...the addition of guitarist tom spelda in late 2002 signalled a name change to stereosoul, as the new foursome set about creating its first proper studio album at hoboken, nj's pigeon club...the resulting ten song collection is a celebration of life and love in the new millenium, truly rock and/or roll for the 21st century...stereosoul continues to write, record, and perform in hopes of reaching a wider listening audience...
