Los Angeles-based QuarterMaster updates traditional pub songs, shanties, bawdy stuff and original tunes with three-part arrangements featuring lush, deep harmonies and lots of charming swagger. The 6-man crew is led by vintage music authority James Briton Hendricks and impresario Daniel Rover Singer (founder of the Reduced Shakespeare Co.). Hendricks accompanies with English concertina, bouzouki, flute and ‘bones’ – a mix that creates a mischievous, soulful, and profoundly masculine sound. The rest of the crew: Tom Ervin (tenor), Arrmen Pirimasihi (baritone), Cal Smith and Michael Hruska (bass). Recorded & mastered in 2016 by Shawna Sellin and Hughes Hall.
