Ohtoro’s eclectic music taste and ability to play multiple instruments lets him create sound-scapes for any mood. He started making beats under the guidance of DJ Cheapshot, Exile and Aloe Blacc and has performed over 100 shows in the last year Djing around Hawaii, California and Japan and playing live beats with Hawaii-based hip-hop artists Super Groupers. Ohtoro has released a video game music inspired cassette album, with fellow musician Maxmo, called “Electrolights” which is stocked full of amazing 8-bit beats. He has also released a 7-inch vinyl mini-album “Kumamoto EP” with the full length "Kumamoto" to follow, his most personal and adventurous album ever. Ohtoro seems to be taking lessons from Madlib and is constantly working on music. That motivation and appreciation of all genres makes Ohtoro’s music very unique and emotional. It’s soundtrack music for your day, maybe even your life.
