简介
James Fisher (Junya) was born in the year of 1976 and raised in Kankakee, IL right outside of south Chicago IL. Growing up he was always interested in music, and gets most of his inspiration from his favorite rapper (Crazy Bone) of the famous rap group Bone Thugz-N-Harmony. Unlike his counterpart Terrance Jackson (Big-Bo) was born in the year of 1975 and raised up in Memphis, TN. He gets his inspiration from his favorite rap group Eightball & MJG. Bo and Junya were two solo artists when they first met back in 1999 while working security for the same company. The two started talking and became instant friends. Music was usually the topic of whenever they got together. In 1998, Junya lost a close cousin by the name of Reel Deel to diabetes. Before his death, Junya and Reel Deel made up the group 90 Proof, after his death Big-Bo collaborated with Junya to do a dedication song entitled LIFE GOES ON. It was their first song together. After the song was finished the two realized they connected well in the studio and decided to become a duo. They kept the name 90 Proof since it was already established as a local favorite in and around the Kankakee area. Together they recorded over 30 songs. They released their first album in March of 2002 entitled BOUT TO BLOW, in which they wrote and produced all 17 tracks. They also write and produce for other local artists. These days the two spend much of their time doing shows and performances whenever and wherever they can, hoping that someone will hear their sound and take a profitable chance on a group that brings a lot more than just rapping to the table. Recently they have done shows in Chicago IL. for the Midwest Talent Tour which was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. They've performed at the Drury Lodge in Cape Girardeau, Mo. for a star search in 2002, and the Steven Hunter Fest in Kankakee, IL. 90 Proof considers themselves as a rap group that can only get better given the fact their earlier tracks were completed during spare time. Most of their music comes from situations they have dealt with in life. Their music targets adults who love to dance and party with catchy tunes and sounds that kids enjoy. They believe most audiences can relate to their music. 90 Proof has versatility, which opens the door for them to be successful.
